Editorial Photo-shoot

Cosmopolitan photo-shoot consisted of 9 set of photos in an out door jungle theme with trees, an earthy wild endearing vibes flowing through the shoot. For the first photo the model had on minimal makeup beach wearing hair and sun hat. The dark green and black clothing with brown sandals, matching hat and a bag that match both clothing and shoes look trendy. The entire out fit has a look that would appeal to all, the clothing did not look too expensive for lower budget people not to want to buy. while did not look to cheap and low in quality the up market would not want to buy like wise. Anyone could afford to buy and wear pieces from the range as they were all affordable without feeling like they are breaking the bank. They were from reputable brand Jacket £380-Fame Swimsuit, £205- Stella McCartney Hat, £105 Bimba Y Lola, Bag £39.99 Zara and Sandals £75, Birkenstock at Schuh at prices within reach from low to up market.
Hello Fashion Photo-shoot consisted of 8 sets of photos in a similar theme to Cosmopolitan with an outside earthy tone to the styling with the model wearing similar in makeup also. the similarities’ run throughout the shoot with the flowing of garments and the way they are arranged and displayed. Similarities in colour tome with a bit of lighter colour mix in with hello Fashion is where I can point out the difference. The contrast is with the background of the shoot although earthy theme, one looks inside with plants to give the outdoor backdrop cool vibes feelings. With a bit more patterns and little more accessories to compliment the outfits. Hello Fashion poses are closer up with the model in a shallow depth 0f field image posing up against the wall that tells you the images were not just about her clothing but also about her and the locations of where the photo-shoot were done. With the wall featuring boldly in the back ground while with cosmopolitan it was more about the model and what she was wearing

I would include images of photo-shoot with bold prints and abstracts drawing in multi-colours in different settings from indoor to outdoor and cat walk with back drops and props that would include bright and fun locations such as the beaches/standing on the sand as we as playing in the water, rivers posing on the riving bank as well as chipping rocks the bring on the styling theme of summer and enjoying the warm weather. Rafting, canoeing, playing in the grass and open fields like cane field and bamboo walk, with lots of out doors and open space. From garden to the wild and forest as the background trying to keep things as close to nature as possible when dressing the models which would include male, female and children. My shoot would be ranging from Gothic street style to, street cool, trendy, mid flow to high-end out the box celeb. My target market would include people who love a certain look but was a bit apprehensive to try, I want to get people to try new things while discovering things about themselves they did not know were within them. My styling will be theme around discovering the inner you let it lose and be free to embrace being happy inside and out. When I think of a target audience for my designing I do not think in a box I think out the box and explore, learning and trying new things as we go along. My target market, will be high to low end but most of all it will be clothing that will bring out new things in people to make them happy to wear their clothing after buying it.

Tyler Mitchel
Since shooting Beyonce vogue in September 2018, Tyler Mitchell has been catapulted into a new level of fame.

He is the first black photographer to shoot the cover of American Vogue Magazine. He is also the first black photographer to shoot the magazine’s cover, ever.
He was also one of the youngest photographers to do so when he photographed Beyonce for the September 2018 issue, aged 23. He bought his first camera, a Digital SLR Canon, in the ninth grade. He got his start in the industry shooting music videos for indie rapper Kevin Abstract while he was still a freshman at NYU’s.
He self published a book of photos called El Paquete of pictures he took of the skateboard scene and architecture in Havana. Tyler’s self believe and cultural driven give him a different look on things, which help in developing his personality. He argues that hewant to recast fashion into something more intimate and socially driven and do films on which builds on what he calls a black universe that explore freedom, love, play and a black utopia” with an “honest gaze.
Tyler is a filmmaker by training; His love of images was sparked on the wheels of his first skateboard. He comes with a cool and rebel spirit about him from his background of skateboarding. He wasInspired by the dreamy aesthetic of Spike Jonze’s early skate videos and set about teaching himself to make his own, with the help of online tutorials.
He sees himself as a YouTube-generation kid that learned how to make and edit videos on YouTube that develop very quickly and has being a key part towards forming his point of view.
He landed a spot at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts thanks to the short horror flick he made in his parents’ home. “I kept my mom and dad up all night filming it,” he says. “I used fishhooks to make the drawers look like they were moving on their own.”
Instead of signing with a creative agent, he made a name curating his portfolio on Instagram, posting the photographs he was commissioned to shoot for such brands as Marc Jacobs, Converse, and this magazine. He incorporate the things that have been used against black men in his work, such at the dark side of how black men has been victimised but with his work he is looking to revitalise and elevate the black body.”
His images tread the line between reality and fantasy refracting the glossy light that tends to fall on fashion and celebrity toward a softer, more nuanced feeling.
Tyler sees himself as Social-media savvy, politically engaged, and totally fearless concerned photographer. He is one of the new generations of image-makers reshaping the lens through which we see culture. He want to help kids of his culture especially also of his generation and younger to realise that they too can do what he is doing and be successful at it.
There are clear contrast between Tyler Mitchell’s work and Nick Knight even though their both done the cover of Vogue 2018. Knight here in the UK and Mitchell in America and the covers has a look and feel of some similarity they could not be any farther apart than they are. Tyler’s cover came from a theme of personal, family, culture, race, polotics and the current climate with black America, Beyonce embracing her blackness and culture while ever evolving as a strong black woman, a wife and a mother. The theme and music, her cormrow in her hair and her family playing show you the elements, colour theme and pattern of Michell works. Michell used video clip of which I in clue to give you a better understand of the way these two successful Photographers goes about doing their work. Tyler Mitchell has a keen interest in documenting the intersections of gender, race, age, and other visible identities.
Clothes are transformative only when they’re a just reflection of the person embodying them.
On the other side Knights vogue shoot was about diva-dom and diversity, Rihanna A fearless music-industry icon and businesswoman. A very large and lavish first issue for Edward the new Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue.
The Theme of Zendaya’s Vogue 2019 shoot is naturally beautiful natural looks no-makeup and no jewellery it’s at all about, letting the dresses/clothing speak for themselves.
The way styling has been used to support Zendaya’s 2019 June Vogue’ photoshoot with Tyler Mitchell were done in a varity of ways to enhanced and emphasised on the these styling around Natural Beauty/ looks with out makeup. Zendaya went au Natural which give a natyrally beautiful which show off her beautiful features of her face, while her hair is done in a super short, gelled finger wave style draing inspiration from the bygone era of finger waves and a gold, art-deco inspired gown.

Alex posing for a playful photo shoot. This shoot shows expouser and focusing, Alex is the main focus of in the pictures and the the expouser with the natural light coming from the left create a clear image, where your imagine what he was doing at the time. His backwards leaning pose and a slight hint of a smile with his arm resting lightly towards the back of his knee helps to mave his pose stands out and draws all attention to him and his movement. Going through this slide you will be able to identify key things that are important when creating astrong image that standout and is good enough to hold center point. He is isolated and the lighting is clear as you can see it natural sunlight so no need to use flash. These different images and poses highligt to me the diffrent degree of work goes into doing photoshoots. In some images you can see strong to suttle movements , while other are a bit Abstract , expermental and out of focuse. Image one , two and three are strong and especially three the natural light is very clear. Image four is a bit darker and abstract as the wall on his right and apart of the building are all blending in taking away some of the attention fron Alex. This is apart of my journry while learning about photography and photographer, while showing how difficult or esay it can be to get good imagies when playing around with ones camera.
The pictures in the slide below wrier done in a studio using studio lighting, such as flash , continuous lighting portable flash and different setting on a smart phone as well. We tried using different studio lighting from flash heads and monolights to softboxes and light banks, directed lamps, high key and low key and Umbrellas. It was an eye opening experience, which I enjoyed very much.

In this piece of assignment I will be explaining the role of a fashion stylist in an editorial role.
The role of an Editorial Fashion Stylist is to: Carefully crafted images for advertising, publications, film, television, social media, etc.
Creativity is the most important trait an editorial stylist and Edward Enninful is just that person and is also changing the game in the fashion industry. He is known for his edgy elegance with a street expression, also known to have a history of making beautiful, timely and sometimes controversial peace; he comes with the reputation as a person who shakes up mainstream fashion. He customises colourful clothes with a creative street flare. the fourth image in the slide above highlight just that and I can link that to how I love to work. MY patterns and prints would fit right in and flows to appeal to a wider base from high end to streets. While pushing the boundaries with culture and history, he brings more diversity the top brand magazines this is something that I have included through my course work and can be link to my country and culture and diversity theme. He was the first to have done the all black issue of vogue, I as an upcoming designer finds that very appealing and I am encourage by his work to create my own with out feeling someone out of the norm. He is doing this while being himself a respectful, diligent and genuinely he is a champion for the diversity of models and celebrities taking fashion industry to people of all color and race.
As an editorial Stylist he is responsible for wardrobe styling, image consulting, personal styling, commercial, corporate and celebrity styling and so much more.
He is responsible for sourcing garments and accessories, for putting together looks for a shoot in a ways that captures the brief and brand for the designer or publication commissioning the shoot.
his target markets is to hit at a high success rate, my target market includes hitting at a high success rate but also a diversify demographic from Top shop to Fenty and Balmain house Boutique. He is involve in style the garments, developing the concept of the shoot, briefing the teams involved in the shoot from the creative team, hair stylist team makeup team location scouring team, colour selection, transportation, studios management.
To be a successful which is critical as an editorial stylist He needs to able to Create /Cultivating successful relationships with other creative people working in the fashion industry. Builds strong relationships with designers, has access to exclusive brands has the ability to collaborate and a shared respect for photographers, models, hair and makeup artists as well as big brand labels.

A fashion stylist designs the visual images we see in magazine articles or videos in the music industry.
Fashion stylists work for individuals, fashion houses and clothing brands. Their main responsibilities include providing fashion advice; choosing and co-ordinating outfits for models in photo shoots or actors in television and film; and choosing props and accessories and preparing them for shoots.
Travel: traveling to various locations for meetings and photo shoots is integral to the job; international travel is usually a feature.
Working hours: are typically long and irregular.
The theme of this shoot was : Taking beauty to extreme places for the last woman on earth.”
Photographed by Steven Klein, styled by Edward Enninful.
These Three-dimensional pieces images of Rihanna were pieced together to make the eye mask which is something I would love to create in linking to my jacket and clout palette. My jacket can be link to the 1960s-the 80s but also futuristic fashion theme.
This wasn’t one piece that was transported from the lab to the studio and placed over Rihanna’s eye. “It was put together from scratch, by a team of people who had to then disassembled.
All the elements for this were brought to the set, and then each was placed on her, piece by piece. It was like an elaborate puzzle out the box piece which for me is very catching and also appeals to the kind of work I wish to do.
It was about the nudity of the face, then shaping of the face before all the pieces were put on.Rihanna’s supernatural glow comes courtesy of a liberal application of McGrath Labs Skin Fetish 003. Her Lip colour, glitter, jewels was done in a layering process. This was done by McGrath’s team who laid down on RiRi’s pout colourful eccentrics and gothic war theme. Those gold teardrops Pigments with 3-dimensional materials and metal eyeliner are actually metal pieces on top of the eye, as well as underneath.
Confetti-esque 3D lip were made from paillettes then placed over bright red lipstick I choose these images as I can easily link to my own work. I am not a makeup person but when it comes to color and movement, getting your attention and drawing you in these images do just that. Rihanna’s makeup looks almost like war paint done in the most modern way to appeal to young and middle generation.
Background theme and masks inspired by McGrath own history. Rihanna’s own tattoos were used as well as adding other temporary tattoos to her face as well as body casts. this creation includes lots of jewellery and Rihanna’s own tattoos. The photographer and stylist team took the best fabric they could get their hands on including preal drops, peacocks looking eye wear, dark leather, rope link chains and a lots of emotional thought provocative theme garments from their wardrobe. Which they then shaped and placed under her eyes. All of these looks were about texture, movements and colours taken to the extreme, which I would like in my photoshoot.
